He is the host of Khabardar on Express News, and the former host of the satirical talk show Khabarnaak on GEO News.

Previously, he hosted the show Hasb-e-Haal on Dunya News, before leaving Geo News channel’s previous show, Khabarnaak, because of personal reservations.

He then worked in English media for one year in 1986. From 1994 to 1995, Iqbal served as media adviser to the Chief Minister of Punjab. He frequently writes a column in The News International. He also wrote an article for Newsweek Pakistan.

As a columnist, Iqbal has written for a number of publications, including the Urdu-language Nawa-i-Waqt. He completed his early study in the Convent of Jesus and Mary at Lahore. He graduated with a master’s degree from the Government College University in Lahore in 1985, and studied media at San Jose State University in California in 1986.

During an interview with a TV channel Geo, he said “I think I would never have taken an interest in Urdu poetry and writing if I were not the son of the poet Zafar Iqbal. He does do poetry “(In his dreams I think)” Yet he is only known and is famous for his program Khabardar.
